My Arabic Classes Experience: A Journey of Learning, Discipline, and Connection with the Qur’an

My Arabic Classes Experience: A Journey of Learning, Discipline, and Connection with the Qur’an

Published: 24 March 2026

In today’s busy world, balancing work, personal life, and religious learning can feel difficult. But sometimes, all it takes is the right opportunity and sincere intention to begin a journey that transforms your life.

For me, that journey started when I enrolled in a 3 year Arabic Diploma course and Alhamdulillah, it has already begun to change the way I understand the Qur’an and my deen.

Why I Chose to Learn Arabic

As Muslims, we recite the Qur’an daily. But many of us don’t fully understand what we are reading. That realization stayed with me.

I didn’t just want to recite the Qur’an, I wanted to understand it directly.

That’s what pushed me to take Arabic seriously.

About the Course

I am currently enrolled in a 3 year Arabic Diploma course that follows the Silsila Arabia Arabic Language Series.

These books are available on our website as free downloadable PDFs, which makes them accessible to anyone who wants to start learning Arabic.

The institute uses this structured curriculum to teach students step-by-step.

Course Structure:

  • Duration: 3 Years
  • Classes: Monday to Friday
  • Timing: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Exams: Every 6 months (semester system)
  • Total Books: 4 semester books

The curriculum is well-designed and focuses on:

  • Arabic Writing
  • Vocabulary Building
  • Grammar (Nahw & Sarf basics)
  • Reading Skills
  • Qur’an Recitation
  • Hadith
  • Islamic Manners (Akhlaq)

This combination makes it not just a language course, but a complete Islamic learning experience.

My Institute in Bangalore

I attend the Bangalore branch located at:

Kulliyah Tul Hadeeth

📍 Govindapura, Nagavara, Bengaluru

The environment here is peaceful, focused, and highly conducive to learning. Being physically present in such an atmosphere makes a huge difference compared to self-study.

The Teachers (Sheikhs)

One of the biggest blessings of this course is the teachers.

All the Shuyookh (teachers) are graduates from universities in Madinah and Riyadh, and they are highly skilled in the Arabic language.

What stands out the most:

  • They are knowledgeable and experienced
  • They are kind and approachable
  • They genuinely care about students’ progress
  • They speak with us only in Arabic, which helps us immerse ourselves in the language

At first, this felt challenging, but now I realize this is one of the best methods to learn Arabic quickly.

My Progress So Far (3rd Semester)

Alhamdulillah, I am currently in my 3rd semester, and I’ve already seen significant improvement.

Here’s how this journey has impacted me:

1. Better Understanding of Arabic

I can now understand much more Arabic than before — especially basic sentence structures and common vocabulary.

2. Improved Writing Skills

My Arabic writing has improved noticeably. I’m more confident forming sentences and expressing ideas.

3. Stronger Qur’an Recitation

My recitation (tilawah) has become more accurate and fluent.

4. Understanding the Qur’an

This is the most important change.

I’m now able to understand parts of the Qur’an directly, without always relying on translation, and honestly, this feeling is unmatched.

The Reality: It Requires Discipline

This journey is not easy.

Attending classes every day from 7 PM to 10 PM, especially after work, requires:

  • Consistency
  • Patience
  • Sacrifice

There are days when you feel tired. But showing up anyway is what makes the difference, and over time, it becomes a part of your life.

Why Every Muslim Should Learn Arabic

This is something I strongly feel now:

Learning Arabic is not just an option — it is something every Muslim should strive for.

Why?

  • It is the language of the Qur’an
  • It helps you understand your salah
  • It connects you directly with revelation
  • It strengthens your relationship with Allah

Even learning the basics can change your entire perspective.

Final Thoughts

Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to be part of this journey.

I still have a long way to go, but I’m excited to continue learning and improving.

If you’re thinking about learning Arabic, take this as your sign.

Start somewhere. Enroll in a course. Stay consistent.

It might just become one of the best decisions of your life.

A Small Advice

Don’t delay.

Search for a good institute near you, or join an online program, but start now.

Because the sooner you begin, the sooner you’ll taste the beauty of understanding the Qur’an.
