Why Quran is the Book of God

Why Quran is the Book of God

Published: 28 March 2026

Muslims believe the Quran is the direct speech of Allah, revealed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and preserved without change for over 1,400 years. This belief rests on its unique message, miraculous language, rigorous preservation, and its deep impact on hearts and societies.

1. The Quran’s Message about God

The Quran presents Allah as absolutely one, without partner or rival, and calls all people to worship Him alone. It describes itself as guidance, light, healing, mercy, and a criterion that separates truth from falsehood, shaping a complete way of life for those who follow it.

“Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him alone. This is the Straight Path.”
Surah Maryam 19:36

2. A Literary Miracle

The Quran openly challenges humanity to produce even one chapter like it, a challenge that has never been met. Its style is neither poetry nor normal prose, yet it combines powerful rhythm, brevity, depth of meaning, and internal consistency despite being revealed over 23 years to the Prophet ﷺ.

And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our servant, then produce a surah like it and call upon your helpers other than Allah, if you should be truthful.
Surah Al‑Baqarah 2:23

3. Remarkable Preservation

From the very beginning, the Quran was both written down and memorized by large numbers of companions, creating a dual system of preservation. Historical manuscripts from the earliest centuries match the Quran recited today, and millions of memorizers around the world continue this living chain of protection.

Indeed, it is We who have sent down the Reminder, and indeed, We will surely be its Guardian.
Surah Al‑Hijr 15:9

4. What It Means for Us

If the Quran is truly the Book of God, it deserves to be read with humility, reflected on, and implemented in daily life. Whether one is already Muslim or still exploring Islam, approaching the Quran sincerely can open the door to guidance, inner peace, and a direct connection with the Creator.

This is a blessed Book which We have revealed to you so that they may reflect upon its verses and so that people of reason may take heed.
Surah Sad 38:29

May Allah make us people of the Quran, those who recite it, understand it, live by it, and teach it to others, until we meet Him while He is pleased with us.

Jazakallahu khairan for taking the time to reflect on why the Quran is truly the Book of God.
